Fantales Recipe: Make Them Yourself

We’re saying goodbye to our most popular Allen’s Fantales Chocolate Covered Caramel Lollies. These are the lollies from our childhood that most of us absolutely adored. Some of you were among the lucky ones who could still buy the last bags online or at your local store, but unfortunately, many of you were not. Maybe some of you still have a hidden stash somewhere in a closet at home. Anyway, everything sweet comes to an end. I not before, when we unwrap that open last lolly from the bag.

But, every cloud has a silver lining and even in this case, there is a solution at hand, because you can make Fantales (or at least a close equivalent) at home! Their preparation is quite simple.

Here’s what you need to make the best homemade Fantales:

Let’s make the famous Fantales:

  1. Pour the Vizyon Milk Toffee Filling Cream mixture into the bakeware and spread it evenly with a spatula.
  2. Place in the fridge and wait until the caramel hardens completely.
  3. Cut the hard caramel into 2 cm square pieces with an oiled knife. Place on bakeware and return them to the fridge.
  4. Put the chocolate and oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave and stir in 30-second intervals until the mixture is completely melted and smooth. If you don’t have a microwave, you can melt the chocolate over moderate heat.
  5. Dip the caramel pieces into the melted chocolate and let the excess drip off before returning them to the bakeware. Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until the chocolate is completely set.
  6. Wrap the Fantales in pieces of baking paper and leave them in the fridge until serving.
